Consider the distance involved when booking accommodations for the wedding weekend. The Mammoth airport is about 15 minutes outside the town of Mammoth Lakes, where Devil's Postpile and the Friday Welcome dinner are going to be held. Mammoth itself is a half hour from June Lake, the site of the wedding and reception on Saturday. June Lake will be more convenient for the wedding, especially if you are not planning to have your own vehicle, though Mammoth Lakes also has lodging options.
June Lake Lodging Options:
Double Eagle Resort and Spa: As the venue for our ceremony and reception, the Double Eagle is the most convenient place to stay for our wedding weekend. We'll be staying here ourselves! They have resort rooms (standard hotel-type rooms), as well as two bedroom cabins which are great for four people to share. Please call (760) - 648 - 7004 between now and and August 1, and mention you are coming for the Jones/Wilson wedding to get a reduced rate for the room(s) .
Whispering Pines (Tripadvisor link): Nothing too impressive, but it's inexpensive and right across the street from the Double Eagle, so it's convenient if you don't need much for a hotel and want to be within walking distance.
June Lake Villager: A local motel in the small town of June Lake, the Villager is an affordable option that's still relatively close to our wedding venue.
Heidelberg Inn: One- and Two- bedroom condos in the town of June Lake, also close to our wedding venue.
